Honest food and drinks at the Grill: Grill 233
Pat's Pizza in Yarmouth, a favorite of spot of mine, so checking out their other restaurant, Grill 233, was quite appealing to me.

This small and unimposing building and decent sized parking lot, Grill 233 is located on Rt. 1 in Yarmouth. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member and noticed the warmth and comfort of the bar. With ten bars seats to the left and some booths to the right, they have an open layout in the back dining room, surrounded by windows.
Customary as a Sunday tradition, Bloody Marys and Mimosas were highlighted on the board and a plate of eggs Benedict caught my eye. Servers Arianna and Corey explained they didn't have a regular Sunday bartender, but that wouldn't stop me from getting a drink, if I wanted one.
While the Grill 233 does not have ongoing specials or happy hour, they do keep items reasonably priced. On draft, Gritty's Pub ($4.25), Guinness, Stella Artios, Sebago Slick Nick ($3.25), Bud Light and Shipyard are available and they carry Miller Lite, Budweiser, Bud Light, Coors Light, Bass, Rolling Rock and Corona in a bottle. With rumors of adding to their already vast wine list, some choices include Blackstone ($8), Estancia reds, Villa Maria sauvignon blanc ($8/30) and Four Vines Naked chardonnay ($6/24.)

People line up for some of the food specials at Grill 233. Prime rib is featured on Thursday nights and they are known to sell out, despite how much they prepare. Ravioli and other dishes are different every night. Try the roasted duck with garlic mashed potatoes for $21. For appetizers, the spinach and artichoke dip ($9) and clam chowder is worth checking out ($5/7.) I'm a large fan of the burgers and the chicken salad sandwich with cranberries and walnuts but Corey couldn't say enough about the buffalo chicken wrap ($8.)
The bar area is small, there is only one television and they don't have weekly entertainment or specials. However, it is common they having standing room only in the bar area- the place filled with regulars from Yarmouth residents to the mechanics next door. I am sure this is because the Grill 233 is a comfortable place to be, without gimmicks. Real drinks, real food, with real people, a honest concept that I love.
