Happy with two Bucks: Buck's Naked BBQ, Windham

Not only did Buck's Naked BBQ need a second location, Windham needed a Bucks...

I have barbecue on the brain this Spring and who can blame me with this crazy weather. When I heard Buck's Naked BBQ opened a second location in Windham, I jumped at the chance to investigate.

Manager Elizabeth McKenzie answered all of my questions this evening, stating that Alex and Wendy Caisse, owners of both locations, pride themselves in the art of barbecue and the restaurant business as a whole. Treating their employees and customers with respect, they truly want this to be a fun place for everyone to enjoy.

Located in the old Maine Beans building, Buck's has gloriously taken over all three floors. In the loft, there are 12 tables, mostly consisting of large group seating. The main floor houses the bar with 15 seats and some booths, along with a large deck they are expecting to add tables to and open to live music by summer. The downstairs is the very reason I grabbed the family to join me- 6 tables, tons of books, a mini kitchen and a Crooked House for the kids to entertain themselves with.

While the table next to us ordered the fried pickle chips, I opted for the BBQ Buffalo smoked chicken wings for $7.99. We moved onto the rib filled quesadilla and salad ($12.99) and I soon found myself eating some homemade Mac and Cheese because they put "Rub Love" seasoning on it, which I think is great, but the kid did not. She was all over the chicken fingers though. Fried chicken is next on my long list of things to try and of course, the ribs, pulled pork and brisket are slow smoked to perfection, with choices of sides like fresh cut fries, cole slaw and corn bread. The Smoked Sampler is $16.99 and I don't think you'll be hungry after that plate! They also feature a wide variety of steaks, sandwiches and salads.

With 14 beers on tap and a full bar, Buck's in Windham is doing $1 off all Microbrews from 2pm to 5pm and getting to know the locals in the area. They also carry wine and a long list of specialty drinks, - I recommend the margaritas!

As you can expect with any new restaurant, the opening day kinks have been worked out and soon they will be adding promotions, late night menu's, live entertainment and lunch specials galore. I suggest you stop by and pay them a visit.
