Classic OOB dance party: Oasis Bar & Grille, OOB
Head to OOB, where neon never seems to go out of style and check out the Oasis Bar and Grille.
Although they might need to get a new sign for next summer, since they've recently discontinued their kitchen items. But it is still a bar near the beach, so the Oasis part makes sense.

Chris Steele and Chris Small have owned the Oasis for over 9 years, according to the bartender and I was surprised to hear it wasn't a 21 year old hang out, like the one in Portland (Same owners? Still open? God, I'm too old to know!) This location attracts a lot of locals and an older 30 and 40 something crowd.
Nickelback plays LOUDLY when we enter. My eye roll is the opposite reaction and a dream come true to the group that comes in right behind me. It's a Wednesday so there is no DJ in sight, but plenty of room to dance if you wanted. If you need a break from shaking it, saddle up to one of 7 booths, a large bar or the outside patio to get your drink on.
Did you know you can smoke on patios in OOB? I didn't either but you might as well this time of year, since every one who walks by is.
Who wants a shot? They have a fully stocked bar for that. Glasses of house wine are $5 and full bottles are available, ranging from $16 to $20. Tap beers include Gritty's, Shock Top, Harpoon IPA, Dos Equis XXX, Rolling Rock, Budweiser and Bud Light. The choices for bottled beers are even more expansive and cheap for just $3- Shipyard, Shipyard Summer, Samuel Adams, Twisted Tea, Corona, Heineken, PBR, Miller Lite, Coors Light, Bud Lime, Bud Light and the always popular, Budweiser.
With all the Old Orchard beach bars in competition for the Summer, you have to have good specials to draw in a crowd. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, in addition to live DJ's and no cover, the Oasis features $2 drafts and your choice of $2 well drinks.
Oasis will be open full time until the season ends, a few weeks after Labor Day. And since they are open until 1am every night of the week, there's plenty of time to stop by before the Summer is over.
