An indoor Fenway Park, complete with Green Monster seating: The Strike Zone, Old Orchard Beach

With summer fast approaching, Old Orchard Beach is an obvious beach destination for many in the Greater Portland area. However, the club-thumping pier-rocking dance party festivities of many of the bars in OOB are not always what you have in mind for a trip down the causeway.

Rolling aquamarine right through the floorboards: Lindbergh's Landing

Ahoy! It's a hidden treasure of a bar & grill near the beach: Pirates Patio, OOB

The trip to Old Orchard Beach starts with a trick. Pirates Patio is somewhere in this milieu of sweat, candy and neon, and I'm bracing for double-barreled kitsch.

Old Orchard Beach sure has changed: Myst

Like many Mainers that do not live in the area, you tend to steer clear of Old Orchard Beach in the Summer. From experience, I can attest to some sort of revival down there and suggest you check it out for yourself.
