Carrots make me laugh

carrot.JPG

I'm a big fan of humor inserted in unexpected places. Like on this price tag for carrots at the Freedom Farm stand at today's Portland Farmers' Market. These clever farmers have had similar messages on their tags for a few weeks now, but this is the only one I spotted today. I'm not super confident the carrot-for-breakfast trend is going to catch on, but it certainly beats eating a McMuffin.

Hand-written roadside-like signs are the ones I always go out of my way to try to read. They are usually quite entertaining.

And I would agree with you that carrots for breakfast sound a whole lot better than a greasy fast-food sandwich. And actually I had strawberries for breakfast then carrots for a snack a little later this morning so I think maybe this farmer might be on to something (with a little help from the power of suggestion ;-)
