Introducing...Me!
Welcome to Mixed Media! My name is Jamie and I am here to blog about Maine's wicked art scene. The local art community is vibrant, and with so many world-class museums and galleries in Maine there is always something to experience.
But before we embark on a journey through Maine art, let me tell you a bit about moi. I am a 23 year old graduate of UNE, where I studied English and Creative and Fine Arts, two of my many passions. I am currently assistant editor at Accent Home & Garden magazine and I also write on a freelance basis for several local publications.
I have been interested in art ever since I was a wee lass dabbling in finger-paints. Although I still like to paint (with brushes now!) what I truly enjoy is appreciating the work of other artists. To me, art is the manifestation of the human soul. We express ourselves through the things we create, and art is one of the most beautiful products of that work.
I hope that you will follow my artistic adventures, and perhaps become inspired to see some Maine art for yourself!
