The Polyphonic Spree's Fragile Army is coming soon!
Get ready to be really happy and optimistic! The choral symphonic pop group from Texas is releasing a new, full-length album in July!
If you don't know why I told you to be happy and optimistic, you must not be familiar with The Polyphonic Spree.

The Polyphonic Spree is the lovechild of Tim Delaughter's great ambition and great creativity. With 25 members currently, the band includes French horn, flute, trumpet, trombone, piano, theremin, violin, harp, viola, guitar, percussion, and drums. There is also a full chorus. An arrangement like this could make for an absolute disaster, but Tim Delaughter and his band of brothers and sisters make it into something absolutely beautiful. All of the music is very energetic and positive. With songs like "Light and Day", "It's the Sun", and "Hold Me Now", you'll want to run through endless fields of grass under the warm sun. The lyrics found in the songs of the Spree are all around hopeful and heart-felt. Whenever I'm feeling down, I always turn to the Polyphonic Spree to make me feel better.
The Fragile Army, the band's third upcoming album, will contain 12 new tracks that continue from Section 20 of the previous album. One of the main themes of the album is Delaughter's antiwar stance on the situation in Iraq.
The Polyphonic Spree just released a mashup of all of the new songs from the album, and it can be downloaded here. From what I've listened to, the new album brings a lot of promise and change from the more experimental Together, We're Heavy. One part of the mashup sounds very reminiscent of The Beatles' "Hey Jude". I'm not surprised, because Delaughter is a big Beatles fan.
Put June 19th on your calendar, because this album is not to miss!
Here's the music video for "Light and Day".
