Here's a little about my band...

My band is called The Cheese Grater Experience, Version 5. Featuring Major Vader. The band was started with three friends, my brother, and me pulling a midnight improv jam in January. My three friends and I are the musicians in the band, and my brother is the exclusive dance member (Major Vader). We don't play a particular style of music. So far we have ranged from rock to new wave to folk.

Our first performance was at a coffeehouse event held by the South Portland High School. We played our new wave hit "Intergalactic Love Spaceship", and the crowd went so crazy that they came up on stage to dance with us!

Our second performance was at the National Honors Induction ceremony at South Portland High School. My Cheese Grater friends and I are all in the NHS, and we had to induct our friend Joanna, so we made a song about her. Our induction song got a standing ovation. Here's the video below:

We have just recorded two songs in a garage (the way it's supposed to be done, right?). The two songs are "Intergalactic Love Spaceship" and "Lexi is a Slut". The latter song is bit suggestive and explicit (as you can tell from the title), so I suggest the younger ones stick with "Intergalactic Love Spaceship". "Spaceship" is a really out-of-control song with some crazy new wave vocals and keyboard improvisations while "Lexi" is hormone-filled garage band rock song. You can listen to both of those songs on our Myspace.

We have a lot of songs in development, probably around 12 or 13 at this point. Some of them will be all-age material while some of them will be more adult. We hope to put on a lot of shows this summer, and as you can expect, some of them will draw more mature audiences. Don't think we'll forget about the kids, though! Thinking about the songs we have now, we can easily put together a kid-friendly set in the summer. Gotta love those kids!

None of my school assemblies were ever that entertaining - and I'm sure Joanna appreciated the induction song you wrote for her.

I'm sure "Lexi" appreciates her song, too.

Just an FYI that "Lexi" is not a true story.

You boys will forever be a part of my own personal Intergalactic Love Spaceship. <3
