Dominic and the Lucid, The Leftovers and Jeff Beam playing at USM this Saturday!

USM local rocker Jeff Beam will be joined by Portland psychedelic rock group Dominic and the Lucid and Portland punk rockers The Leftovers on Saturday, March 8th at the Brooks Student Center on the USM Gorham campus.

Jeff Beam takes from various influences such as The Beatles, Elliot Smith, Beck, and others to make his own solid rock sound with healthy doses of psychedelia. I have found if you like the Foo Fighters, you should definitely check Beam out.

Dominic and the Lucid is a wonderful marriage of various psychedelic influences. While "Killer Kissed You In The Dark" sounds very reminiscent of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon era, "Beer Sells Singles Fade Away" mixes two modern British rock hits, Radiohead and Coldplay. I've been meaning to see these guys for a while, so I'm really looking forward to this show.

The Leftovers sound very reminiscent of Hot Hot Heat, especially with their song "Pick and Choose". This band will undoubtedly kick up the energy with their punk/power pop sound. These guys recently toured around Europe. That's pretty friggin' cool. Rock on!
