Harry and the Potters in Portland this THURSDAY!
The premiere Wizard Rock band makes its great return back to Portland for a show full of unlimited enthusiasm!
If you love Harry Potter and modern eclectic performances, then this show at SPACE Gallery is the show for you! Harry and the Potters pioneered the genre of Wizard Rock in 2002 and now hundreds and hundreds of Wizard Rock bands exist across the nation and the world because of them.
Harry and the Potters will be joined by friends MATH the Band and Uncle Monsterface for the national Unlimited Enthusiasm Tour.
MATH the Band (Kevin) is known for his ridiculously hyperactive dance moves and NES-style music played from his MacBook while he sings about capitalism, dinosaurs, and the FBI in a nonsensical fashion. More often than never, he encourages people to dance and move around with him. Last time I saw him, we took our shoes off and began slamming them around the Quaker Meeting House where the concert happened.
Uncle Monsterface have become good buds of mine over the past two years. I met them originally at the 2nd annual Yule Ball concert in Cambridge with Harry and the Potters, and I immediately fell in love with their stage antics and rebellious, imaginative new-wave rock music. Their influences include but are not limited to They Might Be Giants, The Aquabats, Oingo Boingo (Danny Elfman's band that you should know about), video games, and The Muppet Show. Here's a live video of "In My Room of Requirement", a Harry Potter-themed song about Christmas.
Remember, the show is on Thursday, June 26th at SPACE Gallery on Congress St. in Portland and it starts at 6pm.
This is expected to be a sold-out show so be sure to buy tickets in advance at all Bull Moose Music locations or Brown Paper Tickets, a fair-trade ticketing service (no BS!). Hope to see you there!

You've got to be kidding me! SPACE why don't you get some real music?
