The Everyday Visuals at The Big Easy - 9/15

The Everyday Visuals put on a great show once again at The Big Easy. I'm not going to spend too much time talking, because I actually have some live concert footage to share with everyone.

TEV never fails to please me with their clever instrumentation, electro-beats, beautiful harmonies, and intelligent lyrics ranging from the cheerful to the melancholic. This is one indie rock band that you don't want to miss. I'll let the videos do the rest of the talkin'.

Wicked Music Videos: Pt. 5

Today I have a really special gem. This music video borders on the coolness and genius of OK Go's "Here It Goes Again". In this video, the band performs in reverse while the song is going forwards in time. Don't understand? Just watch the video. It's amazing. Here is Mute Math with "Typical".

Marissa Nadler and Larkin Grimm at the Space - 9/10

I was given the opportunity to see Marissa Nadler at the Space on September 10th, and it was quite unlike any other show I've been too. I'manindie rock guy, so I'm typically at shows that are...well...a bit rockin'. This show definitely rocked, but in a different way. The concert was a good mix of Folk, Americana, Gothic, and Psychedelic Bluegrass.

CD Review: Marissa Nadler - Songs III: Bird on Water

Marissa Nadler's Songs III: Bird on Water has been a very pleasant surprise to my ears. Every song on the album is comprised of dreamy folk that maintains a very unique sound. Marissa's guitar twiddling and strumming drives each song as she sings with a spooky, yet calming reverb. She is backed by very subtle instrumentation ranging from echoing falsetto guitar to tranquil cello to moaning percussion. There is no doubt that Marissa's beautiful, eerie voice makes the music complete, making this album a great listen.

CD Review: Goliatron and the Dazzlers - Glass Headphones

Welcome to the world of Goliatron and the Dazzlers, a "moon folk" band based in Delaware. All of the work revolves around the creative talent of Doug Cannon, a friend I met on a video game message board years ago. I was so pleased to learn how musically talented he is. Goliatron and the Dazzlers is releasing it's sophomore album

Quite a few years ago, I met a certain chap on a video game forum by the name of Blankmage. We shared a lot of similar interests, so we befriended each other through the curious way of the internet. Over time, I began to learn of his great creative talents through ambitious video game projects and musical explorations. It has been a year since I was introduced to his wonderful band called Goliatron and the Dazzlers.

Goliatron and the Dazzlers is a "moon folk" band, combining elements of folk rock and spacey music, and they are releasing their sophomore album, Glass Headphones, this month. This release is going to be free for the public very much like their first album, Constructive Therapy for the Destructive Mind. It will be available on P2P networks such as Bit Torrent.
