Adding a counter to your site

To add a counter to your site, first visit one of these websites offering counters. Each will ask that you register before you can copy the HTML code for the counter. In answer to your questions,

• Look Smart's Be Seen
• FastCounter
• Internet Tool Zone

Once you have copied the code from one of the sites above, login into your Maine Communities Online site and:

1. Choose the "Update Web Site" button

2. Choose the page you wish to update (by adding a counter) and click the "go to" button

3. Choose "Insert New Posting" (or the red arrow) where you would like the counter to appear

4. Pick a simple posting layout by choosing the rectangle with "Title" and "Body Text."

5. In the "Title" field insert a page a title (such as "Hit Counter" or "Visitors Since..."), or if you don't wish to have a title, place <br> in the field.

6. Paste in your HTML CODE for your Counter.

7. Check the "PowerUsers" box

8. Choose "Continue" for a preview, and then choose" Done"

Voila! Be sure to visit that page and make sure the counter appears.
