Step 7 - Listing your web site in appropriate channels
You can associate your web site with any number of searchable channels (categories of interests). For example, a Cycling Club web page might be listed in several channels: sports, recreation, family, and hobbies. Maine Communities Online has thirty top-level channels and about forty sub-channels. New sub channels are being added as needed. Follow the steps below to list your group in the appropriate channels.
If you've not already done so, find your web site and log in.
Once you have logged in, you'll be
able to select the "Web Site Manager" button at the top of the
homepage.
Scroll down to "Preferences" and select "Change Web Site
Channel Listings"
The column on the right shows available channels and the
column on the left shows the channels your web site is currently
listed in.
To select a channel, click on a letter (such as "R" for "Religion") to view sub channels and choose one that fits your group. When finished, choose "Done."
To format the channel listing link, click on the "Edit
Page" button on your home page, then scroll down and click on "Format
Channel Links."
On the next page, follow steps 1 through 4 to select a display style for your channel links, then choose "done."
