Call for artists for 10 X 10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale
The artists of Points of View Art Gallery and the volunteers of Arts Are Elementary invite area artists to submit original artwork to Brunswick's Second Annual 10 X 10 Benefit Art Exhibit and Sale on Oct. 9-10. All accepted work will sell for $200. The artist receives $100 and $100 benefits Arts Are Elementary, a local nonprofit that provides artist in residence experiences to all Brunswick students in grades one through five at Coffin, Hawthorne, Jordan Acres and Longfellow Elementary Schools.
The Exhibit and Sale opens Friday, Oct.r 9, running from 5-8pm to coincide with Brunswick's Second Friday Art Walk. It continues on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10am-2pm. The art will be on exhibit for the entire month of October at all three venues.
The venues include three gallery spaces on Pleasant Street in Brunswick - Morrell Meeting Room in the Curtis Memorial Library at 23 Pleasant St., Points of View Art Gallery in the Brunswick Business Center at 18 Pleasant St. and Gallery Framing at 12 Pleasant St.
Application information:
Artists may submit between one and three pieces.
Size of work must fall within a 10-inch square format.
Canvas will be accepted only as 10"x 10" and up to 3/4" deep.
Finished work must be ready to put into 10 x 10 black metal frame.
We provide 10 x 10 black metal frame, foam core and optional glass. No matting provided.
All works of art will be priced at $200. Proceeds from each sale will be divided equally between the artist and Arts Are Elementary.
Frames on unsold work may be purchased by the artist for $20.
Application fee:
A $10 fee per artist, for up to three pieces, must be included with each application. Payment can be made by check and mailed to AAE, 10 X 10, P.O. Box 882, Brunswick, ME 04011 or payment can be made online at artsareelementary.org.
