King will speak on energy in Falmouth

Former Governor, Angus King, will be initial speaker in a program
series on energy at Portland SCORE summer meetings. Gov. King will
present an overview of wind power's potential to supply a significant
portion of Maine's future energy needs.

The program takes place at the Portland Country Club, Wednesday,
July 8 at 9 a.m. The meeting is open to the
public but reservations are required at 772-1147 or email
chair@scoremaine.com.

Later meetings will be held at SCORE Offices, 100 Middle St., Second
Floor, East Tower, Portland, all starting at 9 a.m. On Aug 12, Matt Crawford, head of Solaris, LLC, a solar power provider, will discuss the role of solar energy in Maine's future.

On Sept 9, John Peters, President of Down East Energy, will discuss the role of the fuels most in use now, oil, gas and coal.

The October meeting, on the 14th, will feature Charles D Frizzle, former President of Maine Yankee, to talk about the prospects for nuclear power. The series conclude in November with a presentation on the upgrade of the New England electrical grid; speaker to be announced.
