Acorn Productions announces an expanded schedule of free "Intro to Acting" workshops for kids and adults this September.  The company will offer two sessions for adults and three for kids grades K - 12. 

Acorn's Producing Director Michael Levine conducts both sessions, which are designed to provide beginning and continuing actors with an introduction to the actor's craft as well as a sense of what transpires during a full-length acting class. 

Students in the workshops participate in a series of acting games and theater exercises that will introduce them to many common acting terms.  No experience necessary, but pre-registration is required.  Please see the complete listing of dates and times below.

The Acorn Acting Academy starts its fall session of acting classes the week of September 21, 2009.  All classes meet for eight sessions in the new Acorn Studio Theater in the Dana Warp Mill and are conducted by Levine, Stop, Drop and Role's Rachel Flehinger,  and Acorn Shakespeare Ensemble members Keith Anctil and Stephanie Ross.  Offerings for adults include Acting for Ordinary People for beginners, and Actors Workshop, Scene Study and Writer's Improv for more experienced actors.  Kids can choose from Creative Storytelling, Intro to Acting, Storybook Scenes, Improvisational Comedy and Teen Acting..
