Bicycle Coalition of Maine Offers Valet Bicycle Parking at American Folk Festival

The Bicycle Coalition of Maine will offer valet bicycle parking and Park and Pedal options at the American Folk Festival in Bangor on August 28-30. The free service saves money on gas, helps limit traffic congestion and promotes a healthy environment at the festival on the Bangor waterfront.

Seven Park and Pedal sites will accommodate cyclists coming from all directions. Locations may be found at www.BikeMaine.org. Distances from the parking areas to the festival range from one to 12 miles.

The American Folk Festival offers a multicultural celebration of traditional music and dance, arts and crafts and an active children's area. Admission is free but donations are encouraged.

For more information about the festival's valet bicycle parking, please contact the Bicycle Coalition of Maine at info@BikeMaine.org or call 207-623-4511. Bicycle valet volunteers are welcome to sign up at www.americanfolkfestival.com.

Formed in 1992, the Bicycle Coalition of Maine is working to make Maine accessible and safe for all residents and visitors so they may comfortably and responsibly bicycle. The coalition also promotes bicycling for transportation, health, recreation and fun to enhance our communities, environment and economy.
