Crafty cabin fever cure: "Indoor Bazaar" to Benefit the Woodside One Wheelers of Topsham
The Woodside One Wheelers, a circus arts group at Topsham's Woodside Elementary School, will hold an Indoor Bazaar on Saturday, March 3 from 8 am to 2 pm. The sale will be held in the gym and cafeteria at Woodside Elementary School, 42 Barrows Drive, Topsham. Admission is free.
Many crafters and flea market tables have been rented. Refreshments will be sold in the cafeteria.
On July 4 this year, the WOW group will represent Topsham in the annual Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC. Fifty kids, grade 3 thru 10 from SAD 75 will ride unicycles down Constitution Avenue as part of one of Washington, DC's largest public events of the year, drawing over 100,000 spectators from around the world.
Now in its sixth year under coach and Woodside physical education teacher Eric Pulsifer, the WOW program teaches students in grades 3 # 10 many "circus arts" skills including riding unicycles, juggling, walking on stilts, performing tricks with the diabolo and devil sticks, and balancing on a circus ball # often while doing several of the previous feats. Students in the group learn the importance of setting goals and working hard to achieve them while gaining the confidence necessary to perform their new skills for audiences.
The annual WOW community performance will be held on March 9, 6:30 at Mt. Ararat High School, 73 Eagles Way, Topsham.
