The USM Southworth Planetarium invites
one and all to our 8th annual Halloween Party
on Friday, October 30, 2009
6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Following the party is a new program
we've entitled "The Ghost Hour."
Scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m, and end at
9:00 p.m. "The Ghost Hour" is an hour
of story telling down in our star dome theatre.

6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

All are invited to attend our fun,
fright fest down here at the
USM Southworth Planetarium.

See our annual Halloween show,
"The Moon Witch!"
Showings at
6:15 p.m., 6:45 p.m.
and 7:15 p.m.
Eat free food.
Interact with our fun science exhibits.
Venture down our dark gallery for
tricks, treats and surprises.
Weather permitting, we'll
have a telescope available for you
to see the Moon, Jupiter and other
celestial sights.

Admission price: $4.00 per person
($1.00 if you wear a costume.)

listening to scary tales of ghosts,
ghouls and the supernatural?

The Southworth Planetarium
introduces "The Ghost Hour."
Live story tellers recite frightful
yarns down in our dark, star dome theatre.
Join us for an evening of fear, suspense
and the other worldly.

Admission: $5.00 per person

The daughter of back-to-landers, Novella Carpenter wanted to find a way to combine living in the city with farm-fresh food. She did just that. In her book "Farm City," she tells about turning an abandoned lot next to her inner-city home into a mini-farm. WMPG (90.9 and 104.1 FM), the University of Southern Maine's community radio station, hosts its "Watch Your Language!" game show before a live audience Sunday. The two 30-minute episodes celebrating the quirks of the English language will be broadcast later on the radio and on Community Television Network (channel 5). From the set of the "Ed Sullivan Show" to Abbey Road, "Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles" will dazzle with five different scenes and three video screens.
