So many Wii-guns, so little time....
I recently bought a couple guns for my Wii, because I had to play the new Resident Evil shooter game. The original Playstation versions were awesome, and I loved older shooter games, so it's a smash hit with me right from the get-go.
i do think the game is great, but my biggest rant concerns the guns themselves.
The Wii Blaster (Made by Core Gamer )
The Wii blaster looks pretty cool in the packaging at the store, but one thing most people won't notice until they get home is that most shooter games on Wii won't let you remap the buttons yet, so now your trigger is your weapon select button and your fore grip is the trigger.

Needless to say, this takes away from the "Say hello to my lil' friend" Scarface mentality when playing these games, and makes the user spend more concentration on where he's pressing buttons.
If Medal of Honor 2:Heros lets you remap the controller buttons however you want, this gun would be allot more fun. As soon as I get that game, I'll have to find out, but untill then, make sure you know what you're getting into before buying this.
The Wii Zapper (From Nintendo)
This is the gun that all the initial shooter games for Wii will be based around, because Nintendo says so. Not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, as Nintendo likes to keep quality control one of their top priorities, and it does come through on this gun.
It's solidly built, it's got an awesome hidden compartment where the wire from the Wiimote to the Nunchuck is hidden completely, and it's pretty comfortable in my hand.

The trigger is in the right spot so it will work like a real gun on the first generation of shooters, which is it's biggest selling point for me.
I really hope that I can change my button layout on future games to make the Blaster work, because using a rifle style gun is so much easier to aim then a handgun styled one, especially in Resident evil where there are quite a few spots that really need accurate shooting. Did anyone think about this at any time? It's easy enough to just make the keys on a controller by remappable in some sort of configuration screen.
Has anyone else seen any other types of video game gun that maybe works differently, for better or worse? Tell me about it please so I can give 'em a whirl!
