Man caught with 3 dozen Pitbulls in Denver
In clear violation of Denver's Pitbull laws, a Texas man visiting his in laws house with his 3 dozen Pitbulls, was caught after neighbors complained about barking. He was in Denver for a few days while his new house was being completed in another town.
He may face up to 90 days in jail for each dog, as well as a $999. fine for each dog. His in laws are in legal hot water as well.
Now as you all know, I love dogs, but I can't imagine showing up for a visit with more than a few dogs to anyone's house, anywhere, anytime or for any reason. The man claims he did not know about the ordinance, but I think he would have to live under a rock not to know about Denver's greatly publicized Pit Bull ban. Every Pit owner I know has followed Denver's ban very carefully.
He also claims the dogs are show dogs. Anyone believe that? They don't look like any show dogs I have ever seen.

I totally agree with you. That guy has to be the STUPIDEST person in the world! Of all places to go with 13 pits - DENVER????
As to whether or not they are "show" dogs, you have to understand that being from Texas I am sure that he is NOT referring to Westminster.
I am not implying that these are fighting dogs. (I'd have to see the condition of their bodies to say that with certainty) However, I know that there are bully breeders who do not breed to AKC standards. They follow there own drummer.
They breed for the visual impact that their dogs will make. They strive for HUGH heads and muscular buff bodies. These are dogs that will appeal to weight pulling aficionados.

HI Sandi-
I thought weight pulling also, but not before I thought they were fighting dogs. Anyone with any sense (obviously something this owner lacks) would not put dogs together like that if there was even an inkling that they would fight. Did you see the part where he lost of piece of his finger breaking up a fight? And did you see the scars and blood on some of the dogs as they were being taken away?
This guy has done a huge disservice to the breed in my opinion.-Nancy

I'd Have to agree that this guy is very ignorant to the fact about being a Pit Bull owner and not knowing about the DUMB BSL law in Denver. The fact is that to say they couldn't be show dogs in the AKC shows your ignorance as well to the breed. The am staff and the pit bull are two different breeds now from selective gene breeding and they could have been UKC or ADBA show dogs. I also have to agree that a lot of backyard breeders or distorting the pit bull and the original confirmation or the pit bull has been destroyed by them.
