The daughter of back-to-landers, Novella Carpenter wanted to find a way to combine living in the city with farm-fresh food. She did just that. In her book "Farm City," she tells about turning an abandoned lot next to her inner-city home into a mini-farm. WMPG (90.9 and 104.1 FM), the University of Southern Maine's community radio station, hosts its "Watch Your Language!" game show before a live audience Sunday. The two 30-minute episodes celebrating the quirks of the English language will be broadcast later on the radio and on Community Television Network (channel 5).
