Co-founded in 1995 by Jose Ayerve, local rock band Spouse has undergone a lot of fluctuations in membership over the years, but Ayerve has been a mainstay. The latest incarnation of the band performs in Portland Friday night. Spouse will be joined by Vancouver band Parlour Steps and local band Metal Feathers. 10 p.m., Empire Dine & Dance, Portland, $5.

Bethel's annual WinterFest gets under way on Saturday and continues through Jan. 31. Some of the festival events include ice skating, a snow maze, demonstrations, skiing and snowshoeing activities, horse-drawn sleigh rides, a laser tag tournament and hot-air balloon rides. Maine native Roy Davis is releasing his new album, "We Are a Lightning Bolt," and with the release are a number of CD-release concerts. He'll be in Portland Saturday night and at the Unity Centre on Jan. 30. For his Portland show, he'll be joined by Marie Moreshead and Dave Gutter and Evan Casas. The Portland show is for ages 18 and older. Tickets at Bull Moose Music stores and at www.space538.org.
