If I Ran the Circus
(Gorham HS/Portland HS/Deering HS)Niko Kallis - Drums
Matt Heath - Guitar
Sid Baxter - Vox/Synth
Lenny Schwartz - Bass
Lowell Brown - Vox/Guitar
We started 2 winters ago, at a MAMM rock camp actually. Our original members consisted of myself (Niko - Drums), our guitar player Matt, Bass player Lenny, and our ex- Singer Guitar player Oliver. We finished out the rock camp with two songs, one of which we still have in our set today. The band latter that year in the summer added a new member, Sid Baxter, to play synth. Soon after this addition of Sid we played some really awesome local shows, and got some decent local exposure into the scene. After playing for about a year, a conflict arose with our singer/guitarist Oliver, and he was asked to leave the band. Finding a replacement wasn't too difficult for us however. The band was looking for a drastic change to take place, so we were trying to recruit a talented guitarist, who had great vocals in singing as well as screaming. So we picked up an old rock camp friend Lowell Brown as our new Rhythm Guitarist/Vocalist, and soon afterword started playing shows again. After Lowell joined the band, we had much schedule confliction with MAMM, among other issues, and decided it would be best to leave MAMM, and work on our own. Although we left MAMM, anyone who reads this, we would like you to know, MAMM is a marvelous organization with a stupendous staff of professionals, ready and willing to help you reach your short and long term music goals. We left on our own terms, and it was not at all a harsh departure, we still very much appreciate for all MAMM did, and are now working with them for the first time in a long time, by doing this Rock Off. The band has had our current lineup for awhile now, and we are writing new music and improving old material as of right now. We have played in some fairly impressive shows with some national acts, and are adding to our list of bands we've played with every month. Recently, Sid has put aside the snyth for the most part, aside from a few songs, and is now our front man vocalist. Lowell and Sid trade of vocals, making our live performance very fun too watch, and extremely varying in sound. If you like hardcore music, with a singing/screaming blend, then we're the band for you. Come out to see us at these rock off dates, and wish us the best of luck. We are going to give it our all, and hope that you see us for our experience and skill, even if you're not into our style of music. Thanks for reading, and see you out there!
