Pilgrimage was formed when Cheverus High School's jazz quartet decided to take on a rock edge. The group has played together since September, and excel in Jazz, Latin, Funk, Rock, and R&B. We have known each other since 2007, and play and jam on a regular basis, both for paying gigs and informal sessions. Our music takes on rock with a jazzy edge, and we are influenced by such artists as Steely Dan, Dave Matthews Band, Rusted Root, Stevie Wonder and many more. As a jazz combo, Pilgrimage qualified for the state competition for jazz combos, and also had an impressive showing at Berklee College of Music's High School Jazz Festival. Our specialties include having a good time, making good music and keeping the groove alive. We hope to do well at the Rockoff this year, and with a unique instrumentation, seek to show people that jazz players can play rock too!
